Civwest has helped CPB Joint Venture to win Stage 2B of the Duplication of Western Hwy near Ararat. The design and construct contract is worth about $82M. The joint venture, with Seymour Whyte Constructions, will undertake works on the 12.5km section between Buangor and Ararat to deliver an upgrade to two lanes in each direction, with additional turning lanes; a new bridge over the railway line; two new bridges over Hopkins River; and an interchange at Hillside Road, with entry and exit ramps. As the principal road link between Melbourne and Adelaide, the Western Highway serves interstate trade between Victoria and South Australia.
