Having completed a series of successful tenures with Downer, Leighton Contractors, Fulton Hogan and John Holland, Civwest was founded by Civil Engineer Jason Saxton in late 2013 in response to the downturn in the WA civil construction market in 2012/13. Leading civil contractors were reducing their overheads to maintain competitiveness. Work was thin on the ground for most and competition was never higher. Many of the mid-tier contractors were bidding against 10 or more competitors on every job. Project offerings were becoming smaller.
"I sensed an opportunity. Companies were down-sizing to meet the market. At the same time, they wanted to maintain a top performing pre-contracts function in order to win work, but they didn't want to pay for it. I started Civwest with the aim of providing a quality pre-contracts service."

Our strength lies in our local knowledge and experience bidding and winning projects from the smallest carpark to some of WA's largest and most prestigious projects.
